iPod Remote

iPod Remote is a cool new way to control iPod playback on other iOS devices you have laying around. Just install the free iPod Remote server from Cydia (BigBoss) on the remote device and the iPod Remote Controller app, and you are ready to go. You can stick that old iPhone or iPod touch in a dock, and control music playback from anywhere in your house and even create a playlist from your iDevice.

Supports All iOS devices, 3.1 to 4.1.

Cool Features:

  • Control third party audio applications (iOS 4.0 required) such as Pandora or even the YouTube app, in addition to the regular iPod app.
  • You can connect using a common WiFi connection or with Bluetooth.
  • You can set a passcode to prevent unauthorized users from connecting, too.
  • The interface is just like the iPod app, so it’s just like using the remote device directly.
  • You can even establish a VNC connection to the remote devices via Bluetooth, even if there is no WiFi hotspot present.
  • This app will store the remote song library (database) on file, and you can create a quick playlist of songs or choose a pre-existing playlist.

Limitations:
Album art is not displayed in this version. Hold on tight!
Libraries with 1500+ songs may cause the library send/selection features to be a bit slow.
I can’t get you the current playback time; But not to fear, you can hold down the next/previous buttons for fast forwarding, just like in the iPod app!

iWhiteBoard

iWhiteBoard lets you draw on virtually anything on any iOS application, including SpringBoard. It is compatible from 3.0 to 4.1.  This tweak is free and available in Cydia via BigBoss. Enjoy.
